CAIRO: Seventeen scientific researches on the latest archaeological discoveries provided rich topics for discussions at the Sixth Scientific Forum of Archaeologists last week.
The two-day forum kicked off July 8 at the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) in Zamalek.
At the opening press conference, Zahi Hawass, secretary general of the SCA, commended the efforts of all contributors to the archeology field, stressing the importance of team work.
The list of honorees reflected this view; archeologists and top executives of archeological authorities throughout Egypt were honored alongside site security guards and administrative employees working in the field.
Both, Hawass and Sabri Abd El Aziz, the head of Egyptian Antiquities Authority, congratulated Egyptologist Ali Radwan for winning the Mubarak Award for social sciences.

3. Rabee’ Abou Al Kasem, director-general of the archaeological documentation department in Alexandria
4. Ali Omreya, director-general in Dakahlia
5. Adel Hassan, director-general of antiquities of Middle-Egypt
6. Mohamed Abou Deif, financial and administrative affairs employee in Sakkara
7. Al-Nabawi Al-Badri Al-Madani, worker in the antiquities registration office
8. Abdel Aziz Mohamed Mahmoud, guard of antiquities in Al-Haram
9. Rabee’ Mohamed Abou Al Ola, guard of antiquities in Sakkara
10. Salam Abdel Aziz El Fiqi, guard of antiquities in Sakkara
