ISMAILIA: Ismaili playmaker Omar Gamal refuted talks that his current injury could force him to retire from the game.
The 27-year-old damaged a cruciate ligament while playing for the Dervishes against Egypt Telecom last May.
After undergoing surgery in Egypt, the player flew to Germany to start a rehabilitation program.
However, he cut the program short and returned to Egypt after German physiotherapists advised him to follow up his recovery with the doctor who performed the initial operation.
Returning to Egypt doesn’t mean that I ve suffered another injury, Gamal told FilGoal.com.
My rehabilitation is still going as planned but it will be here in Egypt rather than Germany. I will return to football as earlier planned without any delays, he added.
