15 new H1N1 cases discovered in Egypt

CAIRO: Health ministry official Mohamed Atta said 15 new H1N1 cases were discovered in Egypt, raising the country’s total to 289.

Nine cases were discovered Sunday night and six were discovered Monday morning.

Of the six cases, five were Egyptians and one was a Kuwaiti who had just arrived from Italy.

One of the Egyptian patients recently arrived from Saudi Arabia and two others had come in contact with another case.

The patients are undergoing treatment in the hospital and are in stable condition.

Atta said a total of 86 suspected H1N1 cases and 25 suspected bird flu cases tested negative.

Atta confirmed that the number of recovered cases in Egypt reached 210, with 78 still undergoing treatment and only one reported death.
