CAIRO: Former Egypt defender Ibrahim Saied will announce his retirement at the end of August if he receives no offers from abroad.
The 29-year-old failed to find a club after terminating his contract with Ismaili midway through last season and this summer was quieter than he expected.
Consequently, reports on Sunday suggested that Saied has all but retired, even so the versatile defender still sees hope of re-launching his career.
I am still hoping to get an offer from Europe in the summer transfer window, or else I will retire at the end of the month, Saied told FilGoal.com.
I received some offers lately, but none of them was acceptable to me.
Saied, who played for Ahly, Zamalek and Ismaili, had his fair share of problems during his respective spells with Egypt s top trio.
The talented stopper had a loan spell at Everton in 2003, but couldn’t go beyond the Premiership side s reserve team.
