CAIRO: Ahly are favorites to win the race of signing highly-rated Egypt youth team star Abdel-Rahman Barakat from Smouha.
Barakat, 18, is being watched by Ahly and ENPPI, who both expressed interest in signing him from the Alexandrian side.
Officials from Ahly and ENPPI have contacted me and asked to sign Abdel-Rahman, but Smouha must approve the transfer first, Amer Barakat, the youngster s father, told FilGoal.com.
He prefers Ahly because of the popularity of the club, in addition to a meeting we had with Ahly U-18 coach Amr Anwar.
Barakat is currently with Egypt U-20 team in London ahead of the FIFA World Cup on home soil next month.
