ISMAILIA: Ismaili duo Mohamed Hommos and Ahmed Khairi have been ruled out of the Dervishes upcoming Egyptian Premier League game against ENPPI through injury.
Hommos needs to rest for another week to recuperate from an abdominal muscle tear, while Khairi is still undergoing a two-week rehabilitation program, Ismaili chief medic Magdi Al-Baz stated.
Khairi had an operation on his spinal column by the end of last season, and has recently started the post-operative rehab.
Ismaili assistant coach Mohamed Wahbah laments the unavailability of both midfielders ahead of Thursday s match.
The injuries really affect the team, he said. We are trying to prepare replacements to fill the midfield void.
Ismaili will be in the best form possible when all injured players recover.
Youssef Gamal will also miss the game against ENPPI, as medical examinations indicate that he has to undergo new varicose veins surgery.
Omar Gamal was earlier ruled out of action for the remainder of the season with a torn cruciate ligament.
Ismail drew 2-2 with top flight newcomers Mansoura in their first league match on Aug. 6, and now the coastal club are eager to atone for the unsatisfying result.
