CAIRO: Military Production coach Tarek Yehia suggested that the Egyptian Premier League should be halted during the holy month of Ramadan, following his side s 1-1 draw with Mansoura on Sunday.
Traveling from one city to another throughout most of Ramadan is not right, he stated. We need to spend more time with our families.
When asked about the game, Yehia commented: Mansoura weren t our only opponents, their supporters were another side that we had to beat.
On the stroke of half time, Hani Aboul-Fadl gave Military the lead, but Ahmed Eid equalized on 76 minutes to end the game in a draw.
The result is satisfactory. Our objective is to stay in the top flight, and that s why a draw is good enough for us, Yehia added.
Military have been promoted to the Premier League for the first time last summer, and many pundits believe they have what it takes to stay in the elite competition.
On the other hand, Mansoura boss Mohamed Helmi was far from satisfied with his men s performance.
A draw with Military is not a bad result, but I m really unhappy with our display, he said. We have made numerous mistakes that cost us a lot of points so far.
Mansoura, who secured a Premier League spot last summer, also drew in their previous couple of games with Ismaili and Gouna.
