CAIRO: Scottish giants Celtic have sent an official enquiry to Zamalek for the services of playmaker Mahmoud “Shikabala Abdel-Razeq.
Celtic have asked Zamalek to allow Shikabala join the club for a medical from the period of Wednesday Aug. 26th to Saturday Aug. 29.
The enquiry also included that the Bhoys are ready to acquire the services of the 23-year-old wizard, for a fee named by the Cairo club.
However, Zamalek are yet to reply to Celtic s bid. They haven’t made an official statement about the matter so far.
Shikabala is currently nursing a groin injury and is not expected to be fit before three weeks.
The transfer deadline is on Monday Aug. 31.
Celtic have shown interest in Shikabala last February, as revealed by agent Georg Stangassinger. A transfer of around £1million was mentioned.
The Egypt international has also been linked with moves to Blackburn Rovers and Mainz, but Zamalek rejected his departure.
