CAIRO: Egyptian Premier League strugglers Ghazl Mahalla announced that Mohamed Radwan has been appointed as the first team s new coach.
Radwan succeeds former manager and 1980s star Sherif Al-Khashab, who stepped down after a poor league start.
The Peasants only managed one point from a draw with Asyut Petroleum after losing their first two games against Ahly and Masri.
Mahalla have narrowly escaped relegation last season as they finished 12th of the table, only one point off the relegation zone.
On the other hand, Radwan was in charge of Arab Contractors throughout last season before being sacked in May.
The former Egypt youth team coach spent one year with the Wolves, guiding them to 10th place in the league last season.
