CAIRO: Ahly denied that Belgium s Club Brugge made an offer for striker Emad Meteb as recently reported.
We didn t receive any mails regarding the alleged bid, an Ahly official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com.
I really don t know who spread that rumor. Meteb has been sidelined for several months with a major injury, and thus the whole story doesn t make much sense.
Meteb, 26, has been out of action since April, when he sustained a knee ligament injury while playing for Saudi giants Ittihad, where he spent last season on loan.
Media reports mentioned that Brugge are seeking to land the Egypt marksman in January.
Meteb, whose contract with Ahly runs out by the end of the current season, is set to return to action against Gaish next month in the Egyptian Premier League.
