CAIRO: Ahly defender Ahmed Al-Sayed reiterated that he was going to extend his stay at the Cairo club, and denied refusing to sign a new deal as recently rumored.
It was said that Ahly didn t meet the 28-year-old s financial demands, which raised doubts over his future with the Red Devils.
However, Al-Sayed reaffirmed his commitment to Ahly, and assured that money is not an issue for him.
Renewing my contract is only a matter of time, we are still negotiating and trying to work out the details of the deal, he told FilGoal.com.
But money will never be a reason for me to move away from Ahly.
Al-Sayed s current contract runs out by the end of the season.
On whether his talks with Ahly s officials resulted in his lack of appearances lately, Al-Sayed said: No one plays all the time, and I m not really bothered by that.
I was named for Ahly s recent matches, I just wasn t given the opportunity to take part.
As a matter of fact I have a substantial chance to start in the upcoming matches, thanks to Ahly s new formation.
Ahly boss Hossam Al-Badri has been employing a 4-4-2 formation since his appointment in the summer.
He usually deploys Wael Gomaa and Sherif Abdel-Fadil in the heart of defense.
