CAIRO: Ahly winger Mohamed Barakat is willing to see out the remainder of his career with the Cairo club.
Despite the fact that both parties failed to agree terms of a contract extension for the 32-year-old, Barakat refuted claims of an imminent exit.
I met with club officials recently, but unfortunately I didn’t feel that they value me as I expected, Barakat told Egyptian radio.
I want to end my career with Ahly so I will sit again with officials from the club when I return from international duty.
There weren’t any talks with another club and I am not ready to leave Ahly.
Barakat traveled with the Egypt squad to Zambia on Tuesday for the World Cup qualifier on Oct. 10.
The flamboyant midfielder, whose Ahly current contract runs out by the end of the season, signed for the Red Devils in 2004 from Ahly Jeddah.
