CAIRO: Zamalek are the only African club who might attract Ghana players who reached the quarter-finals of the U-20 World Cup, according to The Ghanaian News Agency.

The GNA said in a report published on Tuesday that the Egyptian giants are the only serious competitors to European clubs for Ghanaian players.

Big European clubs like Monaco, Sevilla, Valencia and Sampdoria had already made mouth watering offers to some of the players, the report said.

Though it was the dream of players to be linked with clubs outside Africa, some might consider joining Zamalek because of the attractive offers being made by the former African Champions.

Players who are reportedly in the circle of interest of Zamalek were not named.

The Ghanaian report comes amid speculations in Egyptian press that Zamalek are keeping an eye on an outstanding Ghanaian player.

Zamalek still have one slot for a foreigner in their squad alongside Ghana s senior team midfielder Ibrahim Aywe and Ivory Coast s Remi Adiko.
