CAIRO: The Egyptian Football Association competition committee decided to halt the Egyptian Premier League starting Oct. 27th to give the national side enough time to prepare for their anticipated clash with Algeria.
The Pharaohs will host the Desert Foxes on Nov. 14 in a crucial World Cup qualifier that will largely determine which team will go through.
Hassan Shehata s men should start the preparations on Oct. 27, and the last league games before the stoppage period will take place a day earlier.
Group C leaders Algeria have 13 points, three ahead of second-placed Egypt with one match remaining.
