CAIRO: Referee Yasser Abdel-Raouf, who officiated Zamalek s 1-1 league draw with Gouna, stated that Amr Zaki saw red because he used swear words .

The former Wigan Athletic star received a straight red card in the dying minutes after a brief verbal exchange with the linesman.

It seemed that Zaki insulted the linesman who in return complained to the referee, and the latter didn t hesitate to send off the 26-year-old.

Zaki received his marching orders for using swear words while arguing with the linesman, Abdel-Raouf told Al-Hayat TV.

On the lengthy discussion he had with the robust marksman after dismissing him, Abdel-Raouf said, He was saying that he didn t deserve a red card.

Zaki, who s yet to notch his competitive goal this season, is going to miss the White Knights upcoming league game with Military Production through automatic suspension.
