CAIRO: The number of students infected with H1N1 has reached 42, as the Ministry of Health reported seven new cases Friday.

The infected students are among 18 reported cases, three of which are British.

The students hailed from schools in Cairo, Giza, Helwan and Gharbeya, in addition to one college student from the Computer Science Academy in Cairo.

In a related note, Gharbeya Governor Abdel Hamid Al-Shinnawy said Thursday that no H1N1 cases were reported after moulid El Sayed El Badawy (a religious festival) took place in the governorate last week.

Over 2 million people participated in the moulid.

By press time, the total number of reported H1N1 cases reached 1,136, of which 1,084 have recovered and only 49 cases are undergoing treatment in hospitals.
