CAIRO: Algerian Strasbourg striker Yacine Bezzaz sustained a thigh problem that might rule him out of his country s pivotal World Cup qualifier with Egypt on Nov. 14.
Algerian paper Al-Khaber reported on Monday that the 28-year-old picked up the injury while playing against Metz in the French second division. He was substituted on the hour mark as a result of the injury.
I will be treated for three days and try not to rush my comeback, Bezzaz said.
I will feature against (French second tier) Istres on Friday only if I reach full recovery. I want to make sure I will be ready to face Egypt. I can t miss that game.
I think I will fully recuperate before the end of the current week.
Algerian players Karim Ziani, Mourad Meghni and Madjid Bougherra are still doubtful for their anticipated trip to Egypt.
