CAIRO: The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has cut ticket prices for the team s crucial World Cup qualifier at home to Algeria on Nov. 14, the governing body said on Tuesday.
We wanted to make the tickets more affordable, the prices should suit all classes, EFA board member Hazem Al-Hawari told FilGoal.com.
The initial prices, which were announced last week, drew widespread criticism, with many questioning whether the EFA were trying to take advantage of the fans eagerness to attend the clash by raising the ticket prices.
The new prices range from LE 15 to LE 1,000, Al-Hawari added.
Egypt need to beat Algeria by a three-goal margin to qualify directly for the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
A victory by a two-goal margin will set up a playoff against the Desert Foxes on a neutral venue.
