CAIRO: Ahly handed unsettled goalie Amir Abdel-Hamid a three-month suspension and fined him LE 50,000 for swearing at head coach Hossam Al-Badri, the Red Devils announced on their official site.

The out-of-favor guardian was initially banned for an indefinite period and had his salary suspended for overreacting to his boss decision to leave him out of a League game last month.

Although Abdel-Hamid apologized to Al-Badri for his misconduct, Ahly didn t grant him a reprieve and sanctioned him.

The 30-year-old keeper is widely expected to move away from the Cairo club in the winter.

Previously, Abdel-Hamid revealed that he would either join another Egyptian Premier League club or move to the US in the January transfer window.

Abdel-Hamid had been consistently criticized for failing to impress after becoming Ahly s first-choice goalie, following the sudden departure of Essam Al-Hadari to Swiss side Sion in February 2008.

A string of poor displays prompted Egyptian champions former coach Manuel Jose to rely on Ramzi Saleh in the latter stages of last season, but the Palestinian guardian was hardly convincing.

Ahmed Abdel-Monem, who used to be a third-choice keeper, is now the regular starter for Ahly.
