CAIRO: The Arab League is reiterating there can be no peace talks with Israel without the full freezing of settlement construction by the Jewish state.

Thirteen Arab foreign ministers said after a meeting in Cairo on Thursday that they support President Barack Obama s vision for peace in the Middle East, based on the concept of a two-state solution.

The ministers said peace talks with Israel cannot restart until the Jewish state stops building settlements in areas where the Palestinians hope to establish their future state.

They also reiterated support for the so-called Arab peace initiative that calls for Israeli withdrawal from all territories occupied in the 1967 war, in exchange of full recognition of the Jewish state. -AP
