CAIRO: Daily News Egypt intern and Cairo University student Raghda Bassam El-Halawany won the Judge’s Award for Journalism at the eighth Ibda’a Student Awards in Dubai for a story on exorcism. She also won second place in the journalism category for the same story.
The competition saw over 2,400 submissions in 12 media-related categories this year. The Dubai Media City, hosted the awards at a gala ceremony last month.
Initiated by Dubai Media City under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Ibda’a Student Awards were launched in 2001.
