CAIRO: Zamalek s 2-1 league defeat to Harras Hodoud has yet to be officially endorsed, following the controversial participation of Ahmed Eid in the game, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced.
The Egyptian football governing body said that the final result of the match is yet to be upheld, adding that Zamalek s complaint will be reviewed by the legal committee.
Zamalek, who succumbed to their third consecutive defeat, lodged an official complaint to the EFA claiming that Eid shouldn’t have played last Thursday.
The Egypt winger was given a straight red card after Hodoud s 2-0 defeat at Arab Contractors last month, before his two-match ban was cut to one.
Subsequently, Hodoud took advantage and fielded their star man, who gave them the lead over Hossam Hassan s team.
The Alexandrian side asserted that they are not part of the saga, stressing that they were given the go-ahead by the EFA to field Eid.
