CAIRO: Ismaili guardian Essam Al-Hadary is not keen on wearing the captain s armband when he faces his former club Ahly on Saturday.

Al-Hadary responded to media reports claiming that Ismaili skipper Ayman Ramadan is ready to give up captaincy for the sake of the veteran goalie.

Al-Hadary would like to thank Ramadan for the kind gesture, but stresses that he is not concerned who will be captain, a statement on Al-Hadary s official site read.

What s important is to give in a decent performance and try to win this vital match.

It will be the first time for the Egypt number one to play against Ahly, since his dubious departure from the Cairo giants to Switzerland s Sion last year.

After FIFA ruled that he illegally broke his contract with Ahly, Al-Hadary is still waiting for the verdict of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in his case.
