CAIRO: Eggert Muus has no worries about taking over as general manager of the Concorde El Salam Hotel in Heliopolis.
Muus recently moved to Cairo from Shenzen, a city in Southern China he claims most people wouldn’t have heard of, but with 12 million people, it is a relatively large city.
There, he received ample training for the challenges waiting for him in Cairo.
Hailing from Germany, Muus has traveled the world for more than 18 years, managing quality hotels in Russia, Turkey and China.
Seven years in China, and managing a hotel that was serving as a practice model in preparation for the Beijing Olympics, was quite the learning experience.
Now he is here in Cairo to continue the quality of service Concorde patrons are familiar with, and aiming to develop innovate guest services.
Today, he wants to lure Heliopolis’ young and hip residents and Testa Rossa is the new lounge-coffee shop which has already seen a huge success. Under a beautiful pavilion with shisha, DJ, breakfast in the mornings and secluded from the city, it is quite the charming hotel.
“It’s the small little details that I notice immediately.how you’re greeted, if there’s a bulb missing in the garden.whether you’re on duty, on vacation or at home you’ll always be picky on the details and I have to be careful with these sorts of standards, Muus said.
He guarantees guests “the overall approach here is personalized service, from arrival to departure – we care. Services that are maybe unique, different, unusual. Give the right attention, everybody likes attention, the Middle East more than others, that’s ok we like to do that. -Daily News Egypt
