CAIRO: Ahly marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi refuted recent reports claiming that the Cairo club were planning to swap Algerian youngster Amir Sayoud for Etoile Sahel s Malian striker Yacouba Diarra.
There haven t been any negotiations between both sides this season, he told FilGoal.com
Tunisian paper Al-Sabah reported on Sunday that Ahli had reached an agreement with the Tunisian club over a part-exchange deal.
Last season, the Red Devils were in talks with Sahel over a deal for Diarra, but it eventually fell through.
We wanted to run the rule over Diarra last year, but we didn t approach him this season, Al-Qaeyi added.
Sayoud is understood to be eager to leave Ahly, after the unfortunate clashes that followed Egypt s 1-0 loss to Algeria in November s World Cup decider.
