CAIRO: Ahly goalie Ahmed Adel was hospitalized after suffering a nose fracture in his team s 1-0 win at Military Production on Sunday, and he s set for a one-week break.

Adel sustained a facial injury after colliding with a challenger in the area. He was briefly treated on the pitch as he was bleeding from the nose and mouth.

After the final whistle, the 22-year-old fell down with his shirt stained with blood.

Later on, Adel received more comprehensive treatment at the hospital and had nose braces inserted.

I was bleeding after I got my nose broken so I had to go to the hospital, the young keeper said after the game.

The doctor got my nose bone back to its location, and I should return to training after one week.

Adel put in one of his finest performances with the Red Devils against Production, to help his side claim a valuable win and go six points clear on top of the Egyptian Premier League table.

Ahly have all but signed Gouna goalie Sherif Ekrami starting January, and it s yet to be seen whether or not he will play regularly instead of Adel.
