CAIRO: Amr Zaki has no chance of playing in the 2010 African Cup of Nations, according to Egypt assistant coach Hamada Sedki.
Zaki, who was ruled out for six weeks with a hamstring tear, claimed on Saturday that he is ready to feature for the African champions in Angola.
However, the Zamalek striker didn’t get the response he was expecting from the Egypt management.
Amr Zaki s case is closed, Sedki, Egypt s third man, told FilGoal.com.
The squad was announced and he is not included, so he should be focusing on his recovery program.
Zaki, who played a pivotal role in Egypt s last two CAN triumphs, was also forced to miss the 2009 Confederations Cup due to his troublesome hamstring.
The former Wigan hitman has yet to score his first goal for Zamalek since returning from a season-long loan with the Latics.
