CAIRO: Borussia Dortmund forward Mohamed Zidan has been involved in a war of words with referee Wolfgang Stark, in the wake of Sunday s Bundesliga defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to German daily Bild, Zidan received an unpleasant lecture from Stark as the Egyptian was calling for a foul late in his first game after the African Cup of Nations.

He told me: What do you want? You are no longer in the African Cup of Nations. You are back in Germany, said the 27-year-old.

As Zidan felt provoked, Stark categorically denied his claims.

I strongly deny the allegations of Zidan. I never said so. I only advised him not to waste time because his side were about to make a substitution, said the German official.

Zidan s response was emphatic as the Dortmund forward labeled Stark as an arrogant liar for denying his comments.
