CAIRO: Zamalek-bound winger Rainford Kalaba is poised to join the White Knights arch-rivals Ahly at the end of the current season, said agent Ahmed Soweilam.

The Zambian international has signed for Zamalek in the winter transfer window on a six-month loan from Sporting Braga for ?450,000.

Ahly were also targeting Kalaba last January but their interest in the 23-year-old tailed off for a while.

The Red Devils reportedly want to land the talented wide man on a permanent basis, while Braga were only planning to loan him out last month.

Kalaba, who s yet to make his Zamalek debut, had several disputes with the Cairo club over some overdue payments, and now is eager to leave, according to Soweilam.

Ahly have already reached an initial agreement with Kabala, Soweilam told FilGoal.com

The player will join the club on an extendable season-long loan should the deal go through.

Kabala had some disagreements with Zamalek during the past weeks and tried to rescind his contract.

He will start taking part in Ahly s training this season if his Zamalek s contract is terminated.

Respect

On the other hand, a Zamalek official stressed that Kalaba is fully committed to his Zamalek s deal.

He will arrive at the club in 48 hours. He has so far showed respect towards his contract, the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com.

We are aware of Kalaba s whereabouts and intentions. He will be participating in Zamalek s training soon.

Kalaba s versatility enables him to take up more than one role in midfield. He s a natural right winger but can play as a holding or attacking midfielder too.
