CAIRO: Zamalek winger Hazem Emam categorically denied eyeing an exit from the Cairo club as was recently rumored.

Some recent reports suggested that the talented right back has been at loggerheads with Hossam Hassan because the head coach has been snubbing him of late.

Emam, however, assured that there have never been any disagreements between him and his boss.

The rumors about me and coach Hossam Hassan made me upset, he told Zamalek s official website. I didn t plan to leave Zamalek in these days.

My club would have to give me the thumbs-up if I wanted to depart.

Hassan, who has been keeping Emam on the fringes since the Egyptian Premier League restart, revealed that the 21-year-old suffered a dip in form due to some personal issues .

Emam admitted being frustrated at his exclusion from Egypt s squad for last month s African Cup of Nations.

I was physiologically affected by my omission from the squad, and my form plummeted as a result, he said.

In the upcoming stoppage period I will be seeking to hit peak form to regain a regular spot at Zamalek, and earn an Egypt call-up too.

Emam, who was promoted to a Zamalek first-teamer last term, was named in the Pharaohs provisional squad for the Nations Cup, before he was left out of the final roster.
