CAIRO: Ittihad coach Carlos Cabral opted not to include striker Mohamed Ragab Reio in his side s squad for the league game against Military Production although the club said his disciplinary problem was over.
Reio has fallen out of favor with Cabral due to lack of commitment amid speculation linking him with a move to Zamalek.
Ittihad president Mohamed Moselhi said earlier this week that Reio would be available for selection again after his dispute with the club was settled.
However, Brazilian tactician Cabral did not name him in Ittihad s squad for Friday s league game against Production for no apparent reason.
Cabral was recently criticized by Moselhi for relying on Brazilian striker Giancarlo Mora, who joined the Alexandria-based club in the January transfer window.
Mora scored his first goal for the club in their 2-0 victory over Gouna on Monday.
Reio is the team s top scorer with five goals, one ahead of Egypt forward Mohamed Nagi Gedo , who hasn t found the net since helping the Pharaohs win the African Cup of Nations in January.
Ittihad lie eighth in the league table with 29 points from 21 games.
