CAIRO: Angola and Shabab striker Flavio Amado said he would run back to Ahly if the Egyptian champions approached him in the near future.
Flavio, who spent four glamorous seasons in Cairo, left for Shabab last summer after announcing his desire to leave the Red Devils.
"It (Ahly return) will be most welcomed. Ahly are a club that gave me everything. If they want me I would run back," Flavio told Emirate magazine Super.
While speaking of his love for his old club, the 30-year-old rubbished his reported link with the Ahly’s arch-rivals Zamalek.
"There was no contact with Zamalek and I don’t think I would ever join them because I love Ahly and my spell with the club was the best in my career," he added.
"I owe Ahly. I know that Ahly fans love me and I have the same feeling for them, so out of respect for the fans, I would never join a rival club."
Flavio enjoyed a fine debut season with Shabab as he scored eight league goals for the Riyadh outfit, who finished fourth of the Saudi league.
