QENA: Egyptian police say a group of armed men have opened fire at a memorial service in southern Egypt, killing seven and injuring four others.
Gen. Mohammed Badr says the men targeted a memorial service marking the anniversary of the death of a local man in the town of Al-Hojairat in Qena province, about 465 kilometers south of Cairo. They opened fire on the group and fled.
He says the motive for Friday s killings is not known.
Badr says 3,000 police officers have cordoned off the town in the search for the killers. -AP
