CAIRO: Egyptian Premier League champions Ahly will face Gouna without a number of key players as manager Hossam Al-Badri intends to rest his key men.
The Reds said that Egypt quartet Ahmed Hassan, Wael Gomaa, Sayed Moawad and Emad Meteb will play no part in the game, with the latter nursing a minor ankle problem.
Regular duo Mohamed Barakat and Hossam Ashour will also be rested, while Osama Hosni and Shehab Ahmed are set to miss Thursday’s match due to injury.
Striker Hosni received a knock to his knee in the 3-0 Champions League win over Ittihad Tripoli as match-winner Shehab has a slight hamstring strain.
Ahly secured a sixth straight league title as they have a ten-point lead over Zamalek, two weeks before the final day of the season.
