Egypt’s core annual inflation fell to 6.62 percent in the year to April from 7.04 percent in March, the central bank said on Monday.

Three out of four analysts polled by Reuters forecast core annual inflation to inch slightly up to an average of 7.06 percent in the year to April. Forecasts ranged from 6.8 percent to 7.3 percent.

Core inflation strips out subsidized goods and volatile items including fruit and vegetables.
