JOHANNESBURG: South Africa’s Football Association says the suspension of two senior executives will not hurt the national team’s World Cup preparations.

Chief executive Leslie Sedibe, who took action against team manager Sipho Nkumane and commercial director Victor Nosi this week, said SAFA is "unconditionally committed" to ensuring Carlos Alberto Parreira’s squad can prepare as best they can. SAFA has not said what the allegations against Nkumane and Nosi are.

Sedibe said the suspensions were a result of "ongoing evaluation of the levels of effectiveness within SAFA."

South Africa play Thailand at the new Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, the first of four final warmup games confirmed by the World Cup host.
