CAIRO: Ahly manager Hossam Al-Badri promised young players more opportunities in the upcoming Egyptian Cup campaign.
Following Monday’s 1-0 win over Military Production, champions Ahly finished the league season having relied on a number of youth players recently.
"The young players are performing very well with real enthusiasm, that’s why they will get more chances in the cup," Al-Badri said after the Production win.
"Today Ahmed Nabil ‘Manga’ and Saad Samir were impressive and that’s a positive outcome from the game.
"Now we should turn our focus on the cup. I hope I could guide the team to the double in my first season."
Al-Badri has been praised for promoting a host of young players this term, most notably Shehab Ahmed, Ahmed Shokri, Afroto and Ayman Ashraf.
