CAIRO: Zamalek will open talks with Hossam Ghaly in the near future over a possible summer deal, the Cairo club said.
The Egypt midfielder is set to leave Saudi Arabia’s Nassr at the end of the season after he inexplicably walked away ahead of a cup game last week.
Ghaly has been linked with a move to his boyhood club Ahly, and now their arch-rivals Zamalek are also in the race for his services.
"He’s an excellent player," Zamalek’s board member Hazem Emam told FilGoal.com. "Signing him will definitely pay off."
Nasser chairman Faisal bin Torki made it loud and clear that the former Tottenham Hotspur man will be offloaded soon for his ‘unacceptable behavior’.
The White Knights are seeking to land four of five players in the summer in order to beef up their squad.
"Head coach Hossam Hassam named his requirements and we will act accordingly," Emam added.
