CAIRO: Hosni Abd-Rabou has no intention of leaving Ismaili for any other club in Egypt, the midfielder said on Wednesday.
Egyptian champions Ahly made no secret of their desire to sign Abd-Rabou in the close season while their arch-rivals Zamalek were reported to have approached him about a possible move in the summer.
Reports suggested that Ismaili would not be able to pay the 25-year-old his wages and would have no option but to sell him after he returned from a two-year loan spell at UAE side Ahly.
The Dervishes, who finished third in the Egyptian Premier League to book a place in the African Confederation Cup, rebuffed those reports and Abd-Rabou followed suit.
"I don’t know what I will be doing next season, but I’m sure that I will not play for any Egyptian club other than Ismaili," the Egypt midfielder told FilGoal.com.
"I will sit down with the club officials in the next few days to settle on my future."
Abd-Rabou, who was part of Egypt’s 2008 and 2010 Nations Cup winning squads, is expected to take part in Ismaili’s Egyptian Cup campaign later this month.
The coastal club are seeking to win their first title since 2002 when they won the Premier League after beating off competition from bitter rivals Ahly.
