CAIRO: Mido revealed he could be playing Championship football with Middlesbrough next season if no better offers came to the table this summer.

After two fruitless loan spells with Zamalek and West Ham, the 27-year-old returned to his parent club, who couldn’t seal promotion to the English Premiership.

Even though he said last year that Championship football doesn’t appeal to him, Mido conceded that a return to the Riverside could be in the cards.

"I am under contract with Middleborough, and if I didn’t get a better offer this summer, then I will stay with the team," said the Egypt striker.

"I could stay and help the team get promoted to the Premier League.
"Some clubs showed interest in me lately, but I haven’t received any offers yet. It takes time during the summer of the World Cup."

Boro, managed by Scotsman Gordon Strachan, finished 11th in the English Championship last season.
