Egypt’s producer price index rose 15.79 percent in April from a year earlier, based on index figures released by Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The index was at 163.5 in April, up from 157.5 the previous month and 141.2 last year.

The government started the new index in October 2007, replacing the old wholesale price index.
