CAIRO: The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) assigned Ismaili’s match with Harras Hodoud in the Egyptian Cup to Austrian referee Thomas Einwaller.
Ismaili called on the EFA to appoint foreign referees to officiate the rest of the competition’s matches.
Beforehand, the Dervishes had voiced their dissatisfaction over Fahim Omar’s decisions in their quarter-final game against Ittihad, who lost in a penalty shoot-out.
Einwaller is only 33 years old but has been an international referee for five years.
He presided over a number of games in the 2008 Olympics, UEFA Champions League and the World Cup qualifying stage.
Ismaili’s semi-final match against Hodoud takes place on Thursday.
