CAIRO: Ahly’s new boy Geddo is eager to win his first club title after joining the league champions from Ittihad.
The 26-year-old, who was Egypt’s marksman in the 2010 African Cup of Nations, trained with his new club for the first time this week as he looks forward to the new challenge.
"I hope to win a lot of trophies with Ahly, since my history includes no trophies at club level," Geddo said in an interview with Ahly’s official site.
"Joining Ahly was a dream for me. When I entered the club for the first time I felt it was like my home. The reception was great as well.
"I’ve always considered Mahmoud Al-Khatib my role model. Now I admire (Mohamed) Barakat and I am looking forward to playing alongside him.
"I know it won’t be easy for me to establish my place in the first team, considering the presence of many stars in the squad, but I will do my best to win the manager’s trust."
Geddo is currently doing extra training to raise his fitness level ahead as the Ahly squad prepare to fly to Germany on Thursday for the pre-season camp.
