What could state a lazy summer afternoon in Egypt more loudly than wicker chairs upholstered in muted beiges or with linen pillows thrown on top?
The local handbag brand Nuniz by designer Nadia Zarkani has become so popular making bags from the softest local leather and two new styles scream Egyptian summer.
Zarkani’s touch often references something local by adding elements often overlooked: a roundel of woodwork and mother of pearl on a clutch or else a piece of mashrabiya woodwork to serve as a grip on a clutch. She had also designed an Egyptian flag purse during an impassioned moment after the Egypt-Algeria fiasco which was sold out quickly.
This summer, it’s a wicker covered clutch so well though out, it has an element slightly vintage and old school yet still wholly practical.
Also, Zarkani has designed a quilted purse that is made from a summer linen in beige and navy blue, perfect for those who aspire for a slightly nautical themed summer look.
The wicker bag retails for LE 650 and the linen bag retails for LE 1,100.
