The board of directors at Asek Company for Mining (Ascom) approved plans to establish a Manganese mining company in cooperation with Saudi Sabaek and a Sudanese partner yet to be identified.
Fayez Grees, CEO of Ascom, said the company conducted an initial study which revealed the importance of mining Manganese, adding that the new company is targeting a Manganese mining license in Sudan and exporting it to Saudi Sabaek in order to produce ferromanganese.
Gress pointed out that ferromanganese will be used in manufacturing high firm parts which are used in cars, planes and ships, adding that the new company’s capital wasn’t set yet.
