CAIRO: Egypt midfielder Mohamed Shawky has entered talks with Belgian side Lierse, the player’s agent revealed.
Shawky became a free agent recently after terminating his contract with Kayserispor and Lierse, owned by Egyptian business man Maged Sami, were quick to approach the 28-year-old.
"Sami has spoken with me about Shawky, but nothing has been agreed yet. We are still in the process of negotiations," agent Nader Shawki told FilGoal.com.
"There is a great difference between what Lierse are offering and what Shawky demands.
"There are several other offers as well. He is considering all options available right now."
Shawky has been struggling to find his form with Middlesbrough and Kayseri during the past two seasons, which cost him a place in Egypt’s squad.
