CARIO: Mohamed Shawky is set to rejoin Ahly this summer, according to the player’s agent.

Shawky has terminated his contract with Turkish side Kayserispor over late wages but he failed to attract attention anywhere in Europe.

"He decided to return to Egypt with his old club," player’s agent Nader Shawki told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.

"We are in advanced talks and I wish all details will be sorted out today."

The international midfielder had an unsuccessful spell with English side Middlesbrough before switching to Turkey.

He won two African Cup titles with Egypt but he will find furious competition to break into Ahly’s starting line-up.

The Egyptian champions have Ahmed Hassan, Ahmed Fathi, Hossam Ashour, Hossam Ghaly, Shehab Ahmed and Moataz Eno all playing in the holding midfielder position.
