CAIRO: The Egyptian, who failed to make Boro’s pre-season trip to Ireland for fitness problems, is believed to be out of favor for manager Gordon Strachan.

Mido spent a couple of successful seasons at Ajax between 2001 and 2003, before presenting a host of European clubs after that.
Ajax, who finished second in the Eredivisie last term, have a crucial Champions League qualifier with PAOK of Greece this week.
The Dutch giants are currently managed by Martin Jol, who signed Mido from Roma during his Tottenham Hotspur reign five seasons ago.
