Bill presentment and payment network Fawry added Telecom Egypt’s fixed line bills to its network, allowing Egyptians to pay their quarterly bills by checking their bill at any member bank ATM or retail POS point and pay instantly.
“Fawry’s aim is to make bill payment and presentment in Egypt a simple and convenient process, and has developed a national network that enables Egyptians to receive bills and pay for them instantly across a multitude of regularly used services,” said Ashraf Sabry, chief executive officer of Fawry.
With over 1,000 retail outlets onboard and comprised of medium to large grocery stores and pharmacies, Fawry is expected to increase its service reach to over 3,000 outlets by the end of 2010 and 12,000 outlets by 2012.
In August, Credit Agricole Egypt and Arab African International Bank will also be offering Fawry across their ATM networks.
