Swaziland and Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation and exchange of expertise in the energy industry, reported The Swazi Observer.
Egypt’s Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younes signed the MOU in a meeting with Swazi Minister of Natural Resources and Energy Princess Tsandzile, according to the report.
Egypt will offer Swaziland technical support in the electricity industry and share its expertise by organizing training courses for engineers and technicians in the field.
The two countries will also work on encouraging investors to participate in energy projects under the Build, Own, Operate, Transfer (BOOT) system in addition to establishing joint projects to supply Swaziland’s market with electricity equipment.
